Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park honors more than 17,000 years of human history. As a National Historical Park, the 2,000 acres are home to one of the National Park Service’s largest archeological collections, with the earliest finds being traced back to the Ice Age. Now, visitors can appreciate this local history and learn more about the people who once inhabited this gorgeous landmark. Visit the breathtaking Earth Lodge, dating back to the year 1015, and the Visitor Center for a fully immersive and astounding collection of artifacts.
