In partnership with MakeMyMove, Choose Macon successfully launched a talent attraction initiative designed to welcome both remote workers and job seekers to Macon’s growing community. The program generated strong engagement and visibility, resulting in 4,000 applications and 2,400 eligible applicants, along with more than 632,000 total impressions and 9,500 likes across program and community channels. At close, the pipeline represented approximately 5,100 prospective residents.

Of those engaged, 25 individuals moved to Macon across 10 households, with an average household size of 2.5 people. Participants reflected a strong professional mix, including roles in computer and mathematical fields, business and financial operations, management, architecture and engineering, and administrative support. The average applicant age was 40, with an average personal income of $81,000 and average household income of $182,000.

These moves contributed meaningful local impact, including approximately $8,000 in monthly rental activity, $800,000 in home purchases, an estimated $1.4 million in annual economic impact, and a projected $5.7 million over five years. At the time of program close, remaining pipeline households represented an estimated $124.7 million in potential annual economic value, underscoring continued long-term opportunity for the region.

Phase 2 is currently in development as “Macon My Move,” a rebranded, in-house continuation of the initiative through the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce. This next phase will focus on supporting employees relocating to Macon who are connected to Chamber-invested organizations and local businesses, further strengthening workforce attraction and retention efforts across the region.
