When Sue started thinking about relocating from Ohio, she had a big decision to make. Virginia or Georgia? After weighing her options, Macon stood out for its affordability, unique character, and the opportunity to be closer to family.
Now, after nearly two years in Macon, she’s built meaningful connections and continues to discover new reasons to love the community.
Sue serves as the Senior Account Manager at Unified Legacy Group’s Truss US division, where she manages key accounts and outreach across six states. Throughout her career, she’s also worked in energy advising, business education, and community development, bringing a passion for building relationships everywhere she goes.
Since arriving in Macon, Sue has made community involvement a priority. Shortly after moving, she volunteered with the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia for six months and has since become involved with the Middle Georgia Reentry Coalition, community food drives, and a Christian concert taking place at the Macon Coliseum this July. She also joined The Rotary Club of Macon and is a member of this year’s Leadership Macon class through the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce.
Outside of work and volunteering, you’ll likely find her renovating her home in one of North Macon’s beautiful neighborhoods, spending time with family and friends, or discovering local favorites.
One place she keeps coming back to?
“My favorite local spot happens to center on food: Fountain of Juice. It’s conveniently located near my house, they always have something fun to eat, the environment is casual, and everyone there is genuinely friendly.”
When asked what advice she’d give someone considering a move to Macon, Sue emphasized the importance of making connections early.
“I wish I would have joined a few online social groups before I got down here so that right away I would have friends.”
If she had to describe Macon in just three words, Sue chose: Artistic. Affordable. Architectural.
